Healthy relationships are at the heart of successful personal and workplace environments, but often those relationships need a little specialist help to thrive. Paula Quinsee: Relationship Expert has the insights, personal experience and specialist expertise to provide that help for those that need it.
LoA met with Paula Quinsee recently to learn more about this unique business venture and to understand the impact she is making on the lives of others.
What does your company do?
I work with individuals and companies, helping them to have better and healthier human interactions in both their personal and workplace relationships.

What inspired you to start your company?
In 2006 my relationship had hit rock bottom, we were going for therapy which is where I was introduced to Imago Relationship Therapy. It had such a profound impact on me that it was this journey that led me into the world of coaching. Going through the process, I understood how our upbringing forms the foundation of our emotional intelligence which we then carry with us throughout the rest of our lifetime. This foundation forms the basis of how we relate to others in both our personal and workplace environments.
Why should anyone use your service or product?
Whether we like it or not we cannot separate work from home, they filter into the other. I focus on building relationships by imparting insights, tools and skills that help us to build relationships in all areas of our lives. In our personal lives it will be with our partner, etc., and in the workplace it will be with the people in the organisation i.e. teams, customers and suppliers. Topics I cover include conflict management, communication, emotional intelligence and more.
Tell us a little about your team
As a start up business it is only myself at the moment. I collaborate with people wherever I can with the vision to grow to a global service provider.

Share a little about your entrepreneurial journey. And, do you come from an entrepreneurial background?
I have a corporate background in marketing having worked at companies such as Standard Bank, Nedbank and KFC. I don't consider myself as having an entrepreneurial background in the true business sense and instead believe I have the tenacity, resilience and drive to achieve my vision.
What are your future plans and aspirations for your company?
I would like to have a global presence where people all over the world can access my products and services and where I can travel sharing my knowledge and skills with others with a view to help them have a positive shift in their lives. I always say money does not make the world go round, relationships do.
What gives you the most satisfaction being an entrepreneur?
Knowing I've touched a life leaving a lasting positive impact and inspiring someone to be greater than they think they are.

What's the biggest piece of advice you can give to other women looking to start-up?
Being an entrepreneur is not for the fainthearted but you won't know how far you can fly if you don't give it a try. Be realistic with your expectations, surround yourself with a support structure, build part-time if you can and get the foundations in place before you take the leap and lastly network, network, network.
