On 3 and 4 December, the Aspen Institute France organised the 11th edition of Aspen Europe-Africa, this year on the theme of 'New Connections, New Partnerships', held at the offices of Allen and Overy in Paris.
A number of European and African personalities took part in this forum under the prestigious patronage of French President, Mr Francois Hollande. Amongst the participants were S.E.M Alassane Outtara, President of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire; Laurent Fabius, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development; Cristina Duarte, Minister of Finance of Cap-Vert; Jean-Michel Blanquer, Director General of l’ESSEC; Axelle Lemaire, Secretary of State in Charge of Numeracy; Olara Otunnu, President of the LBL Foundation for Children.
This summer event was the occasion for more than 180 European and African leaders to exchange their viewpoints on a theme to bring about new ways of doing things, to make connections, to move towards new technological innovations between Europe and Africa, and to offer new opportunities for bilateral collaboration.
