South Africa’s Popcorn Training has earned the prestigious Gold Winner status in the 8th annual Golden Bridge Awards® in the Winner Category - Information Technology and Security Innovations: Training and Education - Best Product or Service of the Year fortheir Security Awareness Series “Cyber Heroes”.
Popcorn Training creates Cyber Security Awareness training for the Corporate and Public Sector that is engaging, memorable and measurable. The company recognises that the human element (staff and management) represents the greatest risk factor in today’s business security. By engaging users and making security personally relevant, the company enables behaviour change and teaches cyber vigilance. By applying key learning points for Cyber security in the working environment, the team at Popcorn Training explain potential threats, as well as how and why policies need to be complied with and what the expected behaviour should be.
Popcorn Founder, Anna Collard, commented on receiving the award:
“It’s an honour to be named a winner by Golden Bridge Awards for this esteemed industry and peer recognition award. These awards are a testament to Popcorn Training’s commitment to growing the business on a global scale, by making Cyber Security Awareness entertaining and memorable.”
‘Cyber Heroes’ is a training programme based on live action movie dramatisation of certain cyber security situations that occur in the working environment with a touch of humour. ‘Cyber Heroes’ takes viewers on a journey with reformed cybercriminal Norm O’crime, who has left his dark past behind and teaches users how to be cyber savvy. We see his potential victims in attack scenarios and how their responses either turn them into cyber victims or cyber heroes. Using actors such as Aidan Whytock, who starred in the hugely popular US series ‘Homelands’, was a worthwhile investment in talent and improved audience engagement and recall.
