Speaking at the launch of the Managing Your Cashflow Playbook, Lionesses of Africa founder and ceo, Melanie Hawken, said:
”The best advice I have received as an entrepreneur has almost always come from a fellow woman entrepreneur. So when we have challenges that need solutions, we turn to our 1.8 million Lionesses of Africa community members to tap into their considerable knowledge, insights, and experience. Our new Managing Your Cashflow Playbook is a great example of this collaboration, underpinned with the support of our impact partner, Absa.”
The Lioness Managing Your Cash Flow Playbook is a step-by-step, easy-to-understand guide for mastering business cash flow, covering three key areas: Understanding Your Cash Flow, Managing Your Cash Flow, and Improving Your Cash Flow. It provides a range of useful tips, techniques, and hacks, such as how to calculate your business cash flow, how to prepare a cash flow statement, how to do cash flow forecasting, how to create a monthly cash budget, how to do cash flow analysis, and so much more. Importantly, the Playbook also contains a 12-step guide to improving cash flow in a business.
Ronnie Mbatsane, Managing Executive for SME Business, Absa Relationship Banking, says:
“Our ongoing engagements with business owners reveal that managing cash flow can be particularly difficult, especially during the critical first two years of operation. It is against this background that we collaborated with the Lionesses of Africa to develop this playbook. The learnings from the last few years have underscored that access to appropriate resources, training, mentorship and funding opportunities can enable positive outcomes for women entrepreneurs. This playbook is an effort to supplement the collection of resources already available.”
What makes the Lioness Managing Your Cash Flow Playbook unique is that it shares the personal Playbooks of 16 successful South African women business founders, all members of the Lionesses of Africa community. These experienced women entrepreneurs share their proven hacks, tactics, and strategies for successfully managing business cash flow. Their hard-won, tried, and tested business knowledge is presented in an easy-to-read format for their fellow women entrepreneurs to learn from and apply in their own businesses. This practical advice and these strategies are relevant, agenda-free, and sure to help drive business success and guide the personal growth journeys of other woman entrepreneurs.
Sanah Gumede, Managing Executive for Strategy and Customer Value Management, Absa Relationship Banking, adds: “As the Bank of the Entrepreneur, we are proud to sponsor this Cash Flow Playbook, designed to provide practical insights, tools and strategies to navigate the complexities of cash flow management. This collaboration is a testament to our commitment to supporting small businesses, particularly those owned by women, which contribute to the growth and prosperity of our economy.”
