On the morning of 12 July, women entrepreneurs from across Lesotho will gather together in Maseru to be inspired and to connect with their fellow women business and brand builders at the latest Lioness Lean In breakfast in the country. And it promises to be a great occasion!
Once again, Lionesses of Africa will be partnering with Standard Lesotho Bank to host 75 leading women entrepreneurs at the Mathabiseng Convention Centre in Maseru. The morning’s agenda will commence with breakfast and networking, with women entrepreneurs getting the opportunity to meet one another, make important connections, and open up new business opportunities. The event programme will then formally get under way with opening remarks from Ms Sellloane Tsike, Head of Personal and Business Banking at Standard Lesotho Bank.
Presenting an overview of the work of Lionesses of Africa to empower and support 1 million women entrepreneurs across the African continent will be founder and ceo, Melanie Hawken. She will share some of the major initiatives currently being rolled out by Lionesses of Africa and also plans for the remainder of the year ahead. She will also show attendees a video from the most recent Start-Up Night! Africa London event which showcased some of Africa’s leading women global brand builders to an audience of high profile investors and influencers.
Speaking in advance of the event, Melanie Hawken commented: “It’s wonderful to be back in Lesotho and to have the opportunity of connecting with our community of women entrepreneurs in Maseru. It will be good to share news of the various initiatives that Lionesses of Africa is rolling out for these women business builders, and also to showcase their stories and their businesses all this month on all the Lionesses of Africa platforms.”
Next on the programme will be three leading women entrepreneurs from Lesotho who will share their entrepreneurial success stories with the audience - these include Ms Malerato Khoeli, Board Director at Riverside Fresh Farm Produce; Ms Matokelo Julia Seturumane, Managing Director of Thaba-Bosiu Risk Solutions; and Ms Baile Seakhoa, Technical Director at TP Technologies and founder of PAW Phenomenal African Woman Foundation.
Standard Lesotho Bank executives will then share the entrepreneurship journey that the bank has undertaken, followed by closing remarks from Board Director, Mrs Mannete Ramaili.
The event will then come to a formal close with some great entertainment, a buffet lunch and lots more networking. An exhibition of 14 women entrepreneurs showcasing their products and services will also be held for attendees to visit during the networking sessions.
