If you are not willing to go through the difficult processes then you might end up missing out on something beautiful. A most glorious picture or a natural wonder that you have been traveling miles for.
Many travelers choose the road that has seen travelers several times before and is always relatively easy to do. We can ask how they achieved their goals, what and where were the difficult parts, tips to make the next journey easy and advice on what to look out for. From a common sense perspective that will be the obvious choice. Some people will be more adventurous and choose the road less travelled. That can also be a great and wonderful story.
Yet it is safe to assume that in nature we will always find ourselves quickly in trouble when we do not look where we are going and “BAM” just around a blind corner we get caught in the thorny bush. No matter which road you have chosen. The situation is that no matter how hard you try, how you turn, or how much you wiggle to get out, you get stuck more and more, until you eventually have to yell for help. Someone needs to get you out of the bush bit by bit.
So, where is this heading? What does your debt situation look like? Very few people opt for the better road with many suggestions on how not to find themselves in trouble. The human will research when they want to travel to choose the sane decisions but when it comes to money management we find that they end up in difficult situations. Can it be that we don’t ask for advice when working with money? Do we spend regardless of the consequences and think nothing bad will happen or that we will get out of our debt ourselves?
Your self-talk machine: “I will put it back next month”, "I can handle this”. That is your enemy, not the thorns in the bush. Money is not your problem, instead it is when you get yourself into situations that you cannot control. The situations that have potentially long-term effects. More than 80% of people complain about their debt - yet, only 30% really know how to effectively get out of it.
So, here’s a bit of sanity:
- Don’t spend what you do not have.
- Spend on a need not a want.
- Ask before you take on big debts.
- Business debt can be deadly if you do not know what you are doing. It can cost you and your family dearly.
- It takes a long time to get out of debt so stay away from debt as far as possible.
- Clothing accounts need to be closed asap.
- Understand your budgets- manage them.
- Start getting out of debt- every cent counts.
- Attend courses that can help you learn about money management.
Thorny bushes are beautiful in nature but we need to ensure we do not get stuck in one.
