Have you ever been on a trip with a backpack? Maybe across continents or on a short student holiday, even a great big one through the jungle or Africa? You will understand the day that you start off to ensure that you have packed your backpack just right? Right?
So how come after a couple of days this thing is just becoming such a heavy burden? Scuffing, making you topple over when tying shoelaces, all the weight is one sided or just feeling as if you have a ton of bricks that you are carrying around? Even worse, nobody can help you to carry this thing. We all have our own to carry and in each of our own backpacks we have survival essentials. For ourselves! Then the super tricky issues start, you already have blisters all over, you are still sweating off the weight of three Christmas seasons and there in the road is a log that needs to be crossed. It forms a bridge over a relative small stream. Or so it seems. You wait your turn and off you go Arms stretched out, muscles and brain matter working hard to not get you wet. Balancing from left to right and back and…… I am sure you get the picture.
We carry so much unnecessary stuff in our life’s backpacks that we struggle to cross the log. To top it all off we all have unnecessary products and debt-weight in our financial packs. We buy due to risk or imaginary necessities but end up carrying heavy burdens that we cannot get rid of. Or can you? Take a good look at your current financial backpack and ask the following questions:
Is your backpack:
- Balanced - for all the right reasons
- Relative debt free
- Money working for you
- Business income going towards the correct directions for growth
- Protection of assets - including you!
- Emergency funds 3x or even 6x monthly income
- Wealth builder products
- Educational products
Considering the above, get rid of the bricks, clean up the rubbish, shift the weight, ask for help. Then start again.
Then it is possible to enjoy your journey to do what you love!
