This week sees South Africa’s leading sustainable and ethical product design brand, The Joinery, launching its new TOGETHER campaign. Founding sisters, Kim and Natalie Ellis, are asking customers and supporters to join them on their journey to making a difference.
Commenting on the aims of the campaign, Kim and Natalie Ellis say:
“Our TOGETHER campaign is focused on bringing our nation together through a symbol of hope. When we take our first steps of freedom and are all TOGETHER AGAIN and you receive your TOGETHER tote bag, let this be a wearable symbol of hope and support for our nation.”
“Let this tote be a symbol of a nation standing TOGETHER.”
The new TOGETHER tote bag is made from The Joinery’s newly launched FutureTex fabric which is fabric created from recycled textiles and recycled plastic bottles destined for landfill and our oceans. Each tote is hand made by local women’s sewing co-operatives in the informal settlements of South Africa. Each purchase of a “TogetherToteBag” not only keeps The Joinery’s team of seamstresses employed, but also 20% of the sales proceeds of each tote go to FoodFlowza. This initiative was created to support those in need with food parcels, as well as to support local farmers that can no longer supply to the restaurant industry due to COVID-19.
The Joinery are looking for sponsors for their totes as the goal is to be able to donate 100% of the proceeds to Foodflowza. If you are able to share this campaign so that they can spread the word this would be greatly appreciated. Let’s make a difference TOGETHER.
