The current circumstances have brought a new, unfamiliar and extraordinary market era. It is one where many are being guided to creatively re-think and re-construct their businesses to build resilient companies and bounce-back from any future boundaries. It is becoming clear that the contingency plans previously established are not enough to face the actual situation, and coming up with a plan that could strategically create a positive shift is where many have been focusing their energies. The urgency to implement might be higher than before as each day passes, and uncertainties seem to be greater than sureness.
The fact is that all industrial companies should have competences to innovate, validate, launch and scale new business models at critical times, as presented to win under such circumstances. But reality has shown that not every single situation can be predicted unless there is a previous experience involved. The capability to adapt and come up with innovative business models might be the key to win and bring a stable long term framework for the company, especially at this moment where the market has been showing that most businesses aren’t new but there is something innovative about each, which makes them differ from one another.
It is crucial to understand that time has changed and a new era has begun, where our thoughts have been guided to the future. Projecting our current decisions to become a long-term vision should our primarily focus and the strategies that have been implemented at this period won’t only have an impact today but the days to come. So, it would be a mistake if for a single moment one thinks that things are going to go back to the ways we used to do things post-COVID.
Many companies and business owners have had to face unexpected challenges. Some have been forced to dismiss a number of their employees. Others are now working with fewer staff, using virtual channels, or hiring remote assistants which has been an effective choice so far. Others chose rotated, scaled-down working in regards to social distancing. Although each company has its own management structure, the measures that have been implemented could become permanent for many.
Besides, the sales don’t look the same way they used to before and many projects were abruptly interrupted due to the current situation. This is a clear indication that every single step that is taken and the choices that are being made can greatly affect the business and all the parts involved. So, it is time to accept, adapt and innovate.
