It’s estimated that a rhino dies every 14 hours in South Africa due to the illegal rhino horn trade. Poachers have declared war on one of our biggest natural assets wiping out over 1,300 precious rhino in the last five years. Jenna Clifford is taking action and has teamed up with StopRhinoPoaching.com through the launch of the Jenna Clifford Rhino Collection to assist in combating this crisis.
The Rhino Collection offers a new range of jewellery and homeware master crafted in pewter, silver and gold and leather rhino bracelets set in sterling silver. Through the Jenna Clifford Rhino Project, proceeds from the sale of this collection will be donated to StopRhinoPoaching.com to provide resources such as RED tracking dogs, vehicles, communications equipment and tracking supplies for the use in the fight against poaching.
As part of the launch of the Jenna Clifford Rhino Project and the Rhino Collection, Jenna Clifford has sponsored two tracking dogs named RED (Rhino Endangerment Detection dogs). The RED dogs are trained to identify and track down the scent of keratin (the main compound in rhino horn) and to detect and trace poachers in our rhino reserves. The Jenna Clifford Rhino Project and their strategic partners are in the process of raising sponsorship and developing a full fleet of RED dogs.
