We all know that life happens and challenges are inevitable. Some of the challenges you will have control over and others you won’t. The ultimate test to life's challenges is how you react.
Have you ever heard any of the following statements being made from those around you or at a wider level in society?
I come from a poor background and that is why I am not successful.
I only found out about the presentation yesterday and I didn’t have time to prepare.
I don’t work because I am waiting for Government to provide me with a job.
The reality is, life happens and challenges are inevitable. Some of the challenges you will have control over and others you won’t. The ultimate test to life's challenges is how you react. You can either focus on the challenge, make excuses and look for people or circumstances to blame. On the other hand, you can acknowledge the challenge, get up and make a plan!
Communicating to an audience can be very challenging. At times you might be asked to deliver a presentation at short notice; the projector might stop working when you are presenting; or on a personal level a good friend might ask you to deliver a speech at her wedding. Do you tell everyone how you didn’t have time to prepare? Do you stop the presentation because the projector is not working? Do you make excuses? I honestly hope you don’t do any of the above but you rather: acknowledge the challenge, get up, get into action, and deliver to your full potential!
If you want to be successful, always remember that excuses will get you nowhere but solutions will get you everywhere!
This week I am sharing a video from one of my favourite entrepreneurs and musicians – Beyoncé Knowles. Beyoncé has a phenomenal work ethic and this video highlights her top 10 rules for success and it is very clear that this woman has no excuses. Watch it here.
