What does your company do?
At Ricinz Construction, we specialize in Electrical, Building Maintenance, Garden services, ICT and Facility Management.
What inspired you to start your company?
After a terrible accident and two armed robberies, I was temporary boarded off and my bills were piling up. It was then that I wanted to change my poverty into success and I went to a women’s empowerment meeting where I was inspired to start my own construction company.
What makes your business, service or product special?
We strive to deliver the best service, be it electrical or building maintenance, as our customers always come first.
Tell us a little about your team
I have a goal driven team who work for me, actually its more of a family than a team. Each and every day, we grow together and learn from each other. Being a single mother and now living alone, my employees have become my family who care for me as their own mother. They take pride in their work and always ensure they do their utmost best.
Share a little about your entrepreneurial journey. And, do you come from an entrepreneurial background?
It’s been a long, rough journey. As a woman in construction, not many people believe in you or trust that you are capable of doing what a man could do. Over the years I have learnt so much and I am so grateful to my mentors and staff for guiding and believing in me. I do not come from an entrepreneurial background, but it was always my dream to start an establishment and help others make a success of themselves
What are your future plans and aspirations for your company?
My future plan is to give my employees a better salary, benefits such as medical aid, pension funds, etc. Also, to have many branches and to leave a legacy behind for my people.
What gives you the most satisfaction being an entrepreneur?
The fact I can provide an income to my employees, be it however much or however little, and knowing they can support their families and help them grow.
What's the biggest piece of advice you can give to other women looking to start-up?
The sky is the limit. Don't be afraid to step out there and do what you need to do to be a success.
