“Bold Dialogue is an intuitive wellness platform that facilitates healing, ignites hope and brings the possibility of boldly living a life that honours your passions and dreams.”
What inspired you to start your company?
My passion to serve through healing, and my desire to be there for other women in the way women have been showing up for me, made it possible for the inception of my company. I wanted to provide a safe space for all to heal and transform holistically. Bold Dialogue is an intuitive wellness platform that facilitates healing, ignites hope and brings the possibility of boldly living a life that honours your passions and dreams. We work with women across Africa, equipping them with the support, mentorship and tools required to transcend trauma in order to truly operate from a place of excellence.
Why should anyone use your service or product?
Because we recognize the power of community in our culture, we intentionally engage men in our work. We lead heart-to-heart conversations that pave the way for emotional and mental healing because empowered men, empower the women in their lives. Our culturally-informed offerings range from curated immersive nature and spiritual experiences, radio talk shows, workshops and masterclasses, to coaching and psychotherapy. We also publish a monthly magazine that reaches readers across the globe. Whether we’re in the village coaching our young leaders, or facilitating a virtual corporate training, our mission remains the same: To serve through healing.
Tell us a little about your team
Founder & CEO
Barbara Kamba-Nyathi knows what it’s like to be stripped of everything — who you thought you were, people you thought would be in your life forever, your prized possessions… On her journey, she’s survived cervical cancer, endometriosis, a hysterectomy, a divorce, abuse and even living with an autoimmune disease. Each challenge came with its own set of lessons, but she’s continually seen the power that comes with redefining and rebuilding your identity on your own terms. Barbara has made it her life work to create space for this transformation for those searching for a better way to be, and Bold Dialogue is a manifestation of that purpose.

Share a little about your entrepreneurial journey. And do you come from an entrepreneurial background?
I have been on the entrepreneurial journey since 2009, back then my ex-husband and I started our very first business. We opened a medical centre that offered medical, psychotherapy and physiotherapy services in the city of Windhoek in Namibia. We went on to open a second medical centre, a Men's Clinic, a sushi bar and a women's clothing boutique as well. After we divorced, I moved back home to Zimbabwe where I started Bold Dialogue. Bold Dialogue has enjoyed the growth and success she basks in because of the power of Africanism. In 2019 we got a capital grant from the Tony Elumelu Foundation. We have been recognised on so many platforms, won several awards and been nominated for various awards too. We have expanded into media thanks to SkyzMetroFM in Bulawayo that has dared to believe in us and the potential in our work.
What are your future plans and aspirations for your company?
We are working towards hosting women from our beautiful continent and the world over at our KuKomezya retreat next year in September. We are launching a talk show with a live audience next year in January, we are partnering with Afrluencer by sponsoring one of their annual awards in the coming year. We also look forward to signing up more emotional and wellness clients from around Africa.
What gives you the most satisfaction being an entrepreneur?
The most satisfaction comes from seeing emotional and mental paradigm shifts in the people we engage with and being mentioned in places and platforms such as this one.
What's the biggest piece of advice you can give to other women looking to start-up?
Remember we are here to cheer you on and support your start-up. We are your tribe, so you are never alone. We are because of each other.
