Ethel Cofie, CEO of EDEL Technology Consulting is Africa’s Most Influential Woman in Business and Government for the ICT Category, according to CEO Global. The award was conferred on her in South Africa on Tuesday November 23, 2016. The awards are the leading African recognition programme honoring excellence in the private and public sector. The programme covers 23 economic sectors and has for the past sixteen years independently recognized leaders who are at the pinnacle of their industry.
Nominees undergo a rigorous multi-tiered judging process and quality assurance provided by KPMG with winners being selected through a regional process across Africa. Ethel was acknowledged as the Ghana winner, the West African winner and finally the Continental winner. The award comes a few months after her company won the IT Consulting Firm of the Year at the Ghana Telecom and IT Awards.
Speaking about her award recognition, Ethel said: “I am extremely excited and honored to have received this award beating competitors across the whole of Africa. I insist that Africa must not ignore its inherent advantages in creating strong entrepreneurial ecosystems. The Africa tech ecosystem will not be a silicon type system but a far stronger contender globally.”
