Fortune favors those who give their businesses Full Heart. Women entrepreneurs, more so than our male counterparts, tend to have several projects to manage beside their business. These projects can include children, parents (and other family members), a day job and perhaps running a home.
Sometimes our businesses suffer as a result of managing so many relationships. Working at your business Full Heart means after each distraction, you bounce back and give it your best.
For six years my business was a side gig to my day job. Through these years, I was never able to give my company more than 10 to 20 hours of my time each week.
But I kept at it, working at it as if my life depended on the success of this company. It was something I was building to support my family. Today, thanks to the processes I put in place, my company prospers.
Full Heart entrepreneurs have goals, AND processes in place.
Your business may already have processes for manufacturing and accounting. You also want to have processes to develop yourself as the business owner.
Process Examples:
- A morning process for getting ready for the day
- A process before you sleep at night to prepare for the next day
- A process of tiny steps to achieve your Big Goal(s).
Having a process helps you maximize the time you do have to work on your business. Having a process helps you to focus on the action steps and not the immediate results. Having a process to keep you strong means your company has the best leader possible.
The process is that of putting one foot in front of the other, regardless of how one feels that day. One example for me is my process to get exercise. I schedule 3 or 4 exercise sessions each week, as if they were business appointments. I also start each morning with a short walk. It helps me wake up properly and enjoy quiet time.
Having a process is what allows you, the entrepreneur, to give your business your Full Heart, even on those days when you’re discouraged. Whatever area of your life you want to improve, look at the processes that are giving those results.
