People work for money but go the extra mile for recognition, praise and rewards - Dale Carnegie
One item that regularly comes up as a low rating in our employee surveys is: "The company makes enough use of recognition and rewards other than money to encourage good performance." Recognition makes a person feel valued, appreciated, and most importantly visible (i.e. I see you).
It does not cost any money to acknowledge and celebrate when an employee or your team goes above and beyond their day-to-day tasks.
Small gestures such as:
Commend your customer service team on their work by sharing positive customer feedback with them
Letting your team know how vital they are to your business and in achieving the business goals.
Catching employees doing something good like displaying the company values, helping out a colleague or going the extra mile for a customer or supplier.
What gets rewarded gets repeated, so if you want to drive productivity in your team, then recognition is the key to unlocking their energy and enthusiasm, driving them to continue their great work.
Are you empowering your team or hindering their progress?
Let us help you become more efficient and effective as a leader, team and organisation by reviewing your employee engagement strategy.
