- Clare Appleyard is the founder of Katannuta Diamonds in South Africa, a company specializing in the manufacture of bespoke diamond and precious gemstone jewellery, with a strong emphasis on consumer education and empowerment. Clare pursued a Masters Degree in Geology from the University of Cape Town following she spent time working as a geologist for De Beers and Anglo American. Especially when the OECD UNDP 2016 Africa Economic Outlook Report states that 9 out of 10 working youth between 15-24 years of age are poor or likely to be poor.
